After a distinguished career of 26 years with the Army, Dan Nolan chose to combine his knowledge about leadership and his skill as a trainer to help businesses grow the talent reserves they need. Dan believes that a leader should be expected to wear his "leadership hat" at all times and needs to be prepared to be accountable for outcomes. Becoming an effective leader requires discipline, focus and a knowledge base that enables a person to solve today's problems as well as anticipates and avert those of the future. In this view, developing a vision and being able to effectively communicate to a wide variety of people is the "right stuff" of leadership.

While in the military, Dan served in key assignments, most recently with US Central Command in Tampa, Fl., where he was a principal advisor to the General Tommy Franks. He also commanded the 1st Armored Division Artillery, an 1800 person combat organization, where he managed more than $750 million worth of equipment and facilities. He has spent time in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Iraq and Washington DC and understands the complexity of these varied environments. Dan has proven himself to be a skilled manager, strategic leader and builder of strong teams that are prepared for challenging assignments. These qualities were put to the test when, after retirement from the military, he served as the deputy Supervisor of Elections in Hillsborough County during the critical 2004 election.

Most recently, Dan has been providing leadership for an effort to link the strategic importance of energy independence to the tactical relevance of reducing the use and transportation of fossil fuels in order lower the risk to soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines.

Dan is a graduate of the United States Military Academy West Point. He holds a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, as well as a Masters of Arts in Strategic Planning from the US Naval War College.
